Melbourne is the king of the coffee culture. Here are the reviews of our top five in Melbourne.
Brother Baba Budan – 359 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne
Planted in the center of the city Brother Baba is the perfect place to grab a coffee after you have a stroll around the laneways. The place is friendly with fast service. There are chairs hanging from the roof so you can’t mistake the place. They use top quality beans sourced from around the world by Seven Seeds!
2. Market Lane Coffee – 109 -111 Therry Street, Melbourne
Market Lane also source their own beans and roast them at the famous Prahran Markets in small batches so that you get the best of the world in every cup. They only serve coffee which is in season and clearly put a lot of love and care into their product making them one of the top.
3. Brunetti – 380 Lygon Street, Melbourne
Brunetti brings in Italian flair of Melbourne.
They are very focused on training their baristas so that ever cup is a work of art (keep an eye out for what’s on your crema). The offer two signature blends Nero, peppery and sharp to give you that delicious bitter bite, perfect for espresso and Bianco, with rich creamy ‘butterscotch’ flavours perfect for a cappuccino or latte.
4. League of Honest Coffee – 8 Exploration Lane, Melbourne
This place is as indie as they come but they serve an amazing creamy caramelly cup! With take away cups stating things like “It’s bean the best of times” and “Where have you bean”. They gave me a good giggle so head on into League of Honest Coffee.
Just a heads up, you are walking into the world where their Instagram page is far more important than their website, literally black and white text with a logo and contact info and links to their socials. You will have to wade through the sea of hipster beards but it’s worth it.
5. Patricia Coffee Brewers – Cnr Little Bourke & Little William St, Melbourne
What you see is what you get. These guys have taken out top spot on Yelp, they do not mess around. The no frills, black and white espresso bar is a hot spot for the locals. They offer black coffee, white (Flat White, Cap or Latte) and filtered.
