These cold mornings can make it hard to want to get out of bed so it’s nice to start the day with a warm and delicious breakfast to get you going.
A steaming bowl of oats is quick, easy and a healthy option. I cook my oats in water (it only takes 90 seconds in the microwave which is the best part) add a little milk, a scoop of greek yogurt and a drizzle of honey to make breakfast extra creamy and delicious. To make you feel even better about it, oats contain a fiver known as betaglucan which research has shown to be beneficial in maintaining cholesterol levels. Oats are are a great source of energy and help to reduce heart disease.
I also love an espresso in the morning, I add a little milk to make it more of a home made macchiato to take the sting out of the espresso. Research about coffee changes constantly but recent studies have shown that coffee can assist in preventing Alzheimer’s disease, like I needed another excuse to keep drinking coffee.
So jump in, a healthy breakfast is a great way to start the day.
